Brother Rick shares that the words, “Hych’ka Siem” are universally understood throughout Coast Salish Territory to mean, "Thank you honoured people, guests, elders, respected brother and sisters and so much more." The song was created by Sit-A-Luk (Raymond Peter aka Brother Rick) and Ken Elliot for the 1990 “Faces of the Potlatch” opera. It has become a popular song in SD62!
